Want to meet a family who has a child with diabetes?

Meet the Diabetes Family Support Team

The Diabetes Research and Education Program at Georgetown University in concert with the Diabetes National Institute developed a 'Diabetes Support Team'. Composed of teams consisting of a child with diabetes and his/her parents, the team talks to, visits and supports other children with newly diagnosed diabetes and their families.

We are here to support you and share some diabetes 'tricks of the trade'. We are available to talk by phone or to get together in person.

If you are interested, please contact Colleen Opack at copack@copack@comcast.net or call 301-758-5634.

Diabetes National Institute is first and foremost a growing campaign against diabetes and a community effort to enrich the lives of people with diabetes. Our mission is to provide free services and create a warm and supportive atmosphere where people with diabetes, their families, and the public can engage, learn, and build a greater understanding of diabetes.
